Day 1: Arrival and Volcanoes National Park Transfer
Upon your arrival at Kanombe Airport, Kigali, you’ll be greeted by your driver/guide. After refreshing in Kigali, embark on a scenic 2-3-hour journey to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri, a haven for endangered mountain gorillas. En route, explore points of interest and choose optional activities like Mukungwa River canoeing or the “Ibyi Iwacu” ex-poacher’s project.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking and Departure
Start your day at 7:00 am with a transfer to the park headquarters, equipped with tracking gear and packed lunch. Receive a briefing before venturing into the forest to track gorillas. Tracking duration varies (3-8 hours) based on gorilla movements. Witnessing these magnificent creatures up close for an hour is an unparalleled wildlife experience. Afterward, your driver will transfer you to the hotel or airport for your departure.
